APPLICATION NUMBER: 1011910

   Cumberland Coal Corporation, 2000 Auburn Drive, Suite 200, Beachwood, OH 44122 is applying to the Virginia Division of Mined land Reclamation for a Renewal of PERMIT No. 1202412, in order to continue the operations at the following location.

    The Imboden/Kelly Mines is located 8 miles Northwest of Blackwood on Roaring Fork in Wise County, at coordinates North 3,546,317.0000, East 10,249,951.0000.  The permit area is 23.30 acres and is contained on the Norton USGS 7.5’ quadrangle map.  The Renewal map showing the permit area is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.

    Drainage and wastewater resulting from the permitted operation will be discharged into Roaring Fork, via sediment pond treating surface runoff and mine discharge.  The discharge location may be viewed on the Surface Water Hydrology Map, which is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.  The discharge resulting from the permitted operation is existing.

   Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of October 20, 2026 submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
