    Cumberland Coal Corporation, 2000 Auburn Drive, Suite 200, Beachwood, OH 44122 is applying to the Virginia Division of Mined land Reclamation for a Renewal of PERMIT No. 1202405, in order to continue the operations at the following location.

    The site identified as the Looney Creek Taggart mine, to conduct mining and reclamation operations at the following location: At coordinates North 3,522,674.6573, East 10,212,486.0904 2 miles West of Inman near Route 160. The site is located on the Appalachia quadrangle.

   The permit has 1 NPDES outfall which would discharge into Looney Creek. The outfall controls surface runoff from the operational area consisting of 9.72 acres. The site and its monitoring points can be identified by viewing the previously approved Renewal Map for Application 1011905

   Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of October 20, 2026 submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
