APPLICATION FOR

REVISION TO NPDES

APPLICATION NUMBER: 1011866

    Cumberland Coal Corporation of 200 Auburn Drive, Suite 200, Beachwood, OH 44122 is applying for a Revision to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) PERMIT No. 0082411, in order to add an additional NPDES discharge monitoring point at the following location:  

    The additional site is located 3.5 miles north of Stonega on Callahan Creek in Wise County, Virginia at Latitude 3551472.16 and Longitude 10227701.93.  The additional site is located on the Appalachia U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute quadrangle map and is shown on the Monitoring Point Location Map attached in Section 21.2 of the application.

    Drainage will be discharged as follows:  

   Proposed site 006 is an existing underground mine discharge into Callahan Creek and the location is shown on the Monitoring Point Location Map attached in Section 21.2 of the application. 

   Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of  September 29, 2026 submit written comments or objections concerning application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application. A copy of the application materials is available electronically for public inspection at
