APPLICATION NUMBER: 1011893

CUMBERLAND COAL CORPORATION ,P.O. BOX 2007, PIKEVILLE KY 41502 is applying to the Virginia Energy Mined Land Repurposing Program for a Renewal of Permit No. 1102403, in order to continue the operations at the following location: N3538900.00, E102228900.00, .45 miles N of Stonega on Miller Branch and Callahan Creek near Route 600. The permit is located on the Appalachia quadrangle map and consists of 469.42 acres. The Renewal map showing the permit area is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.

Drainage will pass through sediment control structures and be discharged into

Miller Branch and Callahan Creek. Discharge locations and the permit area may be viewed on the Renewal Map which is attached in Sections 21.2 and 21.5 of the application. Additional discharge details are available in the NPDES Application attached in Section 5.15 of the application.

Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of July 17, 2026 submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
