Cumberland Coal Corporation, P.O. Box 2007, Pikeville KY 41502 is applying to the Virginia Division of Mined land Reclamation for a Renewal of PERMIT No. 1202418, in order to continue the operations at the following location.

    This site is identified as DERBY WILSON-GM 9, and is located: At coordinates North 3,530625, East 10,216,073.00 .5 miles NW of Derby on Preacher Creek near Routes 78 and 686.  

    The site is located on the Appalachia quadrangle. The permit has 1 NPDES outfall which would discharge into Preacher Creek. The outfall controls surface runoff from the operational area consisting of 59.93 acres. The Monitoring points map showing the permit area is attached in Section 21. 2.

   Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of July 17, 2026 submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
