PUBLIC HEARING - Partial street closure of Tacoma Ave

PUBLIC NOTICE

     The Wise Town Council will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday  April 28, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers of the Wise Municipal Building at 501 West Main Street, Wise, VA for the purpose of soliciting public comment on the request submitted for partial street closure of Tacoma Ave. Said request for closure will affect the portion of Tacoma Ave. from the intersection of E Main St. to Water St. When the public hearing is opened, anyone wishing to address the Council regarding said request may speak. 

    Following the public hearing the Town Council may or may not take action to partially close the street. The Town of Wise offers the right to free language assistance for people conducting business with the Town of Wise. The Town of Wise provides reasonable accommodations for persons who require special assistance to participate in public involvement opportunities. People requesting auxiliary aids to accommodate a disability to attend the public hearing should direct their request to the Town Manager’s office or by phoning  (276) 328-6013 at least five days prior to the meeting.
