CLARA MARIE FUNK

Clara Marie Funk, 92, entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving friends. 
Clara was the last living member of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Coeburn High School Class of 1951 and Clinch Valley College. Clara was a hardworking and dedicated businesswoman who took great pride in her work and serving her community and the work she did for her clients and serving them well. She was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and the relationships she built through her work. While devoted to her profession, Clara also maintained an active social life and greatly enjoyed the friendships she shared throughout the years. 
She enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, traveling, and spending time with her beloved pets. Clara shared her home with many four-legged companions over the years, including Prissy, Punky, Charlie, Muffin, Katie, and Lilly. She also enjoyed listening to country and gospel music. Clara's warm personality, friendly nature, and positive outlook on life touched the lives of all who knew her. 
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Funk, mother, Ora Martin Belcher; her father, Willard Belcher; her brother, Freddie Willard "Bobby" Belcher, her sisters, Jean Gray Lawson and Wanda Belcher; and her aunt, Agnes Martin. 
She is survived by her nephew, Rickey Lawson; her niece, Penny (Wayne) Perry; great niece, Joni Beth Coleman and great nephew, Joey Perry; close personal friends who are more like family to her, Tiny Plaster & Nancy Couch; sister-in-law, Patsy Freeman Robinson; and many cousins and good friends. 
Clara will be remembered for her kindness, her love of animals, and the joy she brought to those around her.  Visitation was on Monday, March 9, 2026, 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Sturgill Funeral Home, 310 6th Street NW, Coeburn, VA. Graveside Service followed at Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA.
