JANICE FAY COLLINS

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janice Fay Collins, 87, who entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, a true reflection of the love she faithfully gave throughout her life.

Janice lived a life rooted in faith, family, and devotion. She attended Hubbard Hollow Freewill Baptist Church, where she worshiped faithfully and found strength in her relationship with the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life and a guiding light to her family.

Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hurley; her parents; two brothers; three sisters; three infant brothers; and her cherished granddaughter, Savannah Johnson.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her daughters: Jackie (Billy) Mullins, Lisa (Jeff) Foster, and Kim (Patrick) Belcher. 

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jamie (Jenna) Mullins, April Watson (Jimmy) Jessica (Charlie) Culbertson, Stephanie (Justin) Pilkenton, Brianne (Ryan) Barker, Ashley Sullivan (Cliff) and Taylor Baker. She was also blessed with sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and two more great-great-grandchildren on the way; and two siblings, Helen Hobbs and Freddie Elkins.

Her family was her greatest joy, and nothing meant more to her than seeing generations grow and gather together. Janice will be remembered for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and the unconditional love she poured into her family. The warmth of her presence, her prayers, and her steady guidance will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds peace in knowing she was welcomed into Heaven and reunited with those who had gone before her.

Funeral services for Janice Collins were conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Billy Hibbitts and Rev. Randy Carter officiating. The family received friends from 5:30 P.M. until time of services at 7:00 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services and burial were held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 19, 2026 in the Smith-Gilliam Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family and friends met at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home to go cemetery in procession. Pallbearers were Cody Stanley, Branden Culbertson, Kyle Mullins, Grant Pilkenton, Spencer Baker, and Brantley Pilkenton. Honorary pallbearers will be Cayden Baker, Holden Mullins and Phoenix Barker.

Janice Collins will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished.
