BETTY ROBERTS

Betty Lou Hylton Roberts, 92, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Big Stone Gap, VA. She had formerly resided at The Laurels Assisted Living in Wise, VA for the previous 4 years.

She was born to the late Verna and Theodore Hylton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Roberts; and sisters, Cleo Dingus and Norma Jean Mullins.

Betty was a graduate of Wise High School. After graduation, she married Bill and traveled the country as he served in the United States Air Force. After his retirement, they moved to Abingdon, VA, where she enjoyed reading, puzzles and making a home for her and Bill.

Surviving is her daughter, Kimberly Roberts and husband Howard Fergus of Abingdon, VA; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Rose and husband Thurston; and nieces, nephews and friends.

As per Betty's wishes, all services will be private. Burial will be held in the Wise Cemetery, with Pastor Jeff Sams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Please visit www.sturgillfuneral.com to leave online condolences for the family.
