Town of Wise Planning Commission - Hearing on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025

PUBLIC NOTICE

     The Town of Wise Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Wise Municipal Building, 501 West Main Street, Wise, Virginia, for the purpose of soliciting public comment on applications for approval of a Conditional Use Permit and Site Plan, submitted by Wise County, for a parking lot located at the site of the former Wise County Jail. Said property is located in the B-3 Central Business District, which allows for governmental and public uses as a Conditional Use.

    The Planning Commission will conduct a review of the applications to ensure careful compatibility with neighboring conditions in accordance with the terms of the Town of Wise Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations, adopted March 23, 1987, and as amended to date. Following the public hearing, the Planning Commission may forward a recommendation to the Wise Town Council for approval, approval with conditions, or denial of the applications.

    A copy of the Conditional Use Permit application and Site Plan is on file in the office of the Town Planner, where they may be examined by interested parties during normal business hours. Any person may appear and present their views during the scheduled public hearing. All who are interested are encouraged to attend.
