Phyllis Redman Graybeal Ferguson, 88, of Knoxville, Tennessee and formerly Blountville, Tennessee, went home to Jesus on November 8th, 2025 following a lengthy illness.
Phyllis was born in Norton, Virginia. She graduated from Coeburn High School. Phyllis retired from Bank of America after 38 years in the banking field. Throughout her career, which began at Wise County (Virginia) National Bank, followed by Sovran Bank, Nations Bank and Bank of America, she was a secretary, bookkeeper, teller, head teller and trainer, branch manager, loan officer and vice president.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Moscoe Ballard Redman and Carrie Vincil Redman; siblings Claude Edward Redman, Mildred Virginia Fulks, Lonnie Nathaniel Redman, James Ray Redman, Moscoe Vinston Redman, Joe Richard Redman, Reva Imogene Redman, Geraldine Leona Sturgill; former husband Daniel Sayers Graybeal, and husband of 27 years Lewis E. Ferguson. She is survived by children Gary Graybeal (Cathy) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Patty Graybeal (Franco Facchini) of Northville, Michigan; grandchildren Julianna Graybeal of Louisville, Kentucky, Caroline Dye (Caleb) of Louisville, Kentucky, David Graybeal of Clinton, Tennessee, Alex Lobingier of Atlanta, Georgia, and Daryn Lobingier of Northville, Michigan; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The family extends their gratitude and thanks to the wonderful staff of Emory Ridge memory care facility for the loving care provided to Phyllis during her illness. Family and friends will meet in the mausoleum at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA at 10:45 am Saturday, November 15th for an 11 am Entombment Service. In lieu of flowers, the family desires that memorials be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
