MARY LOU (TAYLOR) RAMEY

January 15, 1946 – August 30, 2025

Mary Lou Ramey of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, 79, died at Norton Community Hospital. Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul Ramey; and sister Dottie, preceded in death by daughter Karen Ramey, her parents, Allie and Dewey Taylor, sisters Virginia, Ruby, Ann, Dixie and her brothers Joseph, Buford, Sam, and Billy. Mary Lou is also survived by her loving children; Paula (Knut) Ryerson, Lisa (Jim) Davenport, Gary (Christine) Ramey and Scott Ramey; grandchildren; Hans and Annika Ryerson; Luke, Jacob and Matthew Ramey, as well as many nieces and nephews. A career at Wise County Public School System. Mary Lou Ramey a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She had a deep love for God and was a lifelong member of the Ramsey Freewill Baptist Church. Mary Lou enjoyed many things, she was creative and loved all types of crafts.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 pm Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at Hagy & Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Steve Powers officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery.
