NORTON, VA - Billy Lee Wells, 93, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Monday, July 21, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Surviving are his daughter, Debbie Lee Boone and husband David of Wise, VA; three grandsons, Brian David Boone and wife Jessica of Charlotte, NC, Jason Kyle Boone and wife Sarah of Firestone, CO, and Matthew Allen Boone and wife Amanda of Kingsport, TN. He was a proud great-grandfather to Hannah, Lydia, Elizabeth, Eve, Faith, Miriam, Abigail, Ethan, Liam, Wells, and Matthew. He was the youngest and last surviving sibling of eight children.

He will be deeply missed by many more relatives and friends, including his close friend Regan Vaughan.

His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Heritage Hall Health Care of Wise, VA, The Laurels and Lost Creek Ministries of Norton, VA, as well as M.E.O.C and Pace of Big Stone Gap, VA.

Funeral services for Billy Wells will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Jeff Reynolds, Pastor Jason Boone and David Boone officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 1:00 P.M.
