POUND, VA - Savannah Brooke Johnson, 28, received her heavenly healing surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Savannah was a beloved wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Savannah was born in Norton, Virginia to Jeff and Lisa Foster.
Savannah graduated from Central High School (‘15) and UVA-Wise (‘19). She was a long-time employee of The Coalfield Progress and worked as an HR Generalist at Crutchfield in Norton, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Hurley Collins and Joe Foster; grandmother, Shirley (Doug) Taylor.
Savannah is survived by her husband, Logan Johnson; parents, Jeff and Lisa Foster; bonus parents, Chris and Shandolyn Johnson; grandmother, Janice “Nena” Collins; sisters, Brianne (Ryan) Barker, Andi Foster, Kristi (Chad) Longworth, and Misty Foster; bonus sister, Kendra (Jonah) Maggard; many nieces and nephews, including, Sergeant Shawn (Bri), Kayley, and Jacob Johnson, Audrey and Marshall Longworth, Jasper, Benjamin, and Bethany Ramey, Braxton McClain and Phoenix Barker; Great niece and nephew, Ella and Cooper Johnson; and a host of special family members, cousins, and friends.
Savannah touched thousands during her fight with leukemia. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family extends a special thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for her during her courageous fight, along with the entire Savannah’s Squad.
Funeral services for Savannah Johnson will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the J.W. Adams Combined School, 10824 Orby Cantrell Hwy, Pound, VA 24279 with Rev. Billy Hibbitts and Rev. Mike Lawson officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. at the J.W. Adams Combined School in Pound, VA. Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 20, 2025 in the Smith-Gilliam Cemetery in Wise, VA with Rev. Randy Carter officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA to go to the cemetery in procession. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), 1201 15th Street N.W., Suite 410, Washington, D.C. 20005.
