MICHAEL SINECOFF SR

Michael (Mike) Dwayne Sinecoff Sr. unexpectedly passed away on June 13, 2025, at age 55. Born on May 9, 1970, to parents Arkie Sinecoff and Thelma (Large) Coomer, Mike was a man of many skills and talents. He loved working on anything and was always willing to help those around him who needed anything fixed. He also never passed up an opportunity to be outside, whether it was for a cookout, bonfire, working on something, or enjoying nature. Mike had a wonderful sense of humor that could make you cry from laughing so hard. He was also a veteran, serving as a specialist in the Army from 1988 to 1995. He served in the United States Army Transportation Corps in the 1st Engineer Brigade at Ft Leonard Wood, MO. During his enlistment, he served in Operation Desert Storm. Mike received the Certificate of Commendation from VII Corps, Saudi Arabia, and served with distinction among coalition forces fighting for the liberation of Kuwait. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Dannie W. Coomer; uncles Wayne Large and Freddie Large; and aunt Linda Gillard.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Sinecoff; children Michael D. Sinecoff Jr. (Dawn), Patrick R. Sinecoff (Ashley), and Matthew A. Sinecoff; and grandchildren Jacqueline and Koda. First cousin once removed, Jed Edwards. Parents, Arkie Sinecoff and Thelma Coomer; aunts and uncles, Juanita (Otis) Mullins, Johnny Large (Erika), Danny Large, Joyce (Roger) Yates, Billy (Sherry) Large, Robbie (Judy) Large, Ronnie (Tammy) Large, and Kevin (Regina) Large. Siblings Vernie East (Carol), Rodney Sinecoff (Kimberly), and Anthony Sinecoff. Nieces and nephews include Army 1st Lieutenant Brandon Sinecoff (Samantha and children Rowan and Reece), Brittany Sinecoff (son Grayson), Kylee-Anne East, Lorelai Sinecoff, Jameelynne East, and Shepherd Sinecoff. Father-in-law Ed Gonderman, mother-in-law Deb Gonderman, Nicole Honeycutt (Patience and children Zayden and Trenton). Mike will be remembered for his talents, kindness, and love for his family. His laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew him.
Family will receive friends beginning at noon in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, June 28th, 2025, with a funeral service conducted by clergy, Rod Sinecoff, and the Gate City Honor Guard. Burial will follow at the Slemp family cemetery (Rt. 72), Coeburn, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
