ROBERT (BOB) STIDHAM

NORTON, VA – Robert (Bob) Stidham, 83, died Monday, June 16, 2025, at Community Living Center at the Veterans Hospital in Mountain Home, TN. He was a US Navy Veteran having served on the Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Disabled American Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America and the American Legion. He was a former member of the Norton Rescue Squad and the Norton Fire Department. He enjoyed watching the Burton Raiders play football. He was a lifetime member of the Norton Lions Club. He attended the Central Freewill Baptist Church in Norton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Michigan Stidham and Sara Ann Johnson Stidham; his brothers, Leo, Fred, Charlie and Junior; his sisters, Evelyn Stidham James and Carol Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Jean Stidham of Norton, VA; two daughters, Stephanie Dawn Purvis and her husband Randy of Big Stone Gap, VA, Misty Nicole Stidham-Belcher and her husband David W. Jr. of Wise, VA; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Cindy Lou Button.

Funeral services were conducted at 8 pm Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home with Preacher Gary Hill officiating. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, June 20, 2025, at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 11:30 am to travel in procession to the cemetery.
