HELEN ORENDER

NORTON, VA - Helen Annette Hamilton Orender (from Norton, VA), aged 81, passed away and entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, May 24, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Juanita (Gilreath) Hamilton, was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Harold Orender. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Hamilton, special sister-in-law Wanda Orender Shell and brother-in-law Mike Abshire. While living in Kingsport, TN, she was a member of the Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church and was employed by Rowe’s Pharmacy for 41 years. She was a member of the Coeburn Blue Knights, Class of ’61. She was presently a member of Ramsey Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy (Jerry) Maggard, Warner Robins, GA, Dottie Hamilton Abshire, Norton, and Linda Hamilton, Norton, Henry (Beulah) Shell, Kingsport, TN; her nephew Byron Maggard, Warner Robins, GA, her nieces Sharon (Leon) Mullins, Wise, VA, Sherry (Mike) Honeycutt, Kingsport, TN, Stacey (Denny) Begley, Kingsport, TN, Lesley (Scott) Jones, Warner Robins, GA, Jada Davidson, Morganton, GA, and Shelli Roberts, Norton; her great nephews Brennan (Deanna) Barreth, Austin Jones, Bryson Barreth, Spencer Roberts, Cody Honeycutt, Jon Honeycutt, Tyler Honeycutt, Jacob Begley and Caleb Begley; her great nieces Kimberly (Kevin) Collins, Lauren Jones and Brooklyn Barreth; her great-great nephews Maverick Ratley, Braylon Barreth, Knox Barreth, Jack Begley and Waylon Begley; her great-great nieces Makennan Barreth and Halen Honeycutt as well as a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2024, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton with the Rev. Steve Powers officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the funeral home, where they will then travel in procession to the Laurel Grove Cemetery for graveside services and burial at 11:00 a.m.
