PATSY C. PERRY BLANTON

December 29, 2023

Patsy C. Perry Blanton, 83, of Coeburn VA, who had “outlived two good husbands”, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 26. Affectionately known as either mom, Grandma Mom, or Mowie by her kids and grandkids, she established a wonderful foundation of love and laughter that will forever bond her family and provide a lifetime of warm memories. Patsy loved to cook, shop, travel, play games, spend time with family and friends and always made a point to enjoy herself wherever she was, until dementia robbed her of that ability. She was a faithful member of Mary’s Chapel Church in Coeburn and served as secretary and managed the card ministry for the Ladies Sunday School class for many years. Special thanks to her friends in the senior’s group at Mary’s Chapel who always made sure she was able to participate in their outings for many years, which she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Richardson, and Beulah Goodnough; stepfather Charles Goodnough, Jr.; sister Rita Therrell; and her “good husbands” Bill Perry and Charles Blanton.

Survivors include her children, Tammy Puckett, and husband Marty of Coeburn; Tim Perry and wife Tammy of New Market, TN; Tracey White and husband Edwin of Fincastle, VA; and Travis Perry and wife Stephanie of Coeburn. Grandchildren Regan Christensen and husband John; Amber McMillan and husband Demurris; Mallory White; Olivia Bowers and husband Andrew; Caleb White; Hannah Smith and husband Harley; and Katie Stanley and husband Cameron. Great-grandchildren Grace Christensen; Hayden and Lillian McMillan; Lyla Kennedy, Reverie, and Jocko Smith; brother Solola “Butch” Goodnough and wife Rita of Coeburn; brother-in-law Bob Therrell of Ft. Mill, SC and a multitude of family, friends, and church family.

The family would like to sincerely thank the leadership and staff of The Laurels Assisted Living Center in Norton, VA for their care, kindness, and love during our mom’s final season of life.

The family would welcome memorial contributions be made to Freewill Baptist Family Ministries (parent organization of the Laurels) at 90 Stanley Lane, Greeneville, TN 37743.
