County, city: 31 new cases

Wise County reported 27 new COVID-19 cases between Sept. 26 and Tuesday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 14,640 as of Tuesday, compared to 14,613 one week earlier.
Wise County’s total number of COVID deaths remained at 240.

The department’s cumulative positive case count for Norton increased by four, from 1,677 to 1,681

The city’s total number of deaths remained at 22.
