Robert Darrel Gibson, Jr., 78, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA after a short illness. Robert was born to Robert Darrel Gibson and Dixie B. Gibson of Norton, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Connie.

Bob is survived by his brother, Stephen L. Gibson; several cousins, nieces, friends and other relatives. He had no children.

He was a medical technologist and worked and lived most of his life in Nashville, TN before moving back to Norton in the early nineties due to some life altering medical problems. He enjoyed cooking, cars, motorsports on TV, and when he was younger, guns, hunting and outdoor activities.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Food Bank of Wise Co, P.O. Box 2977, Wise VA 24293.
