ROGER WESLEY CARICO

Roger Wesley Carico, 76, born in Pound, VA, passed into the hands of our Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Heritage Hall Health Care in Clintwood, VA.

Roger was a Virginia Tech graduate in math. After graduation, he worked in computer programming for several companies including Electronic Data Systems, and later as a private contractor. His profession took him all over the US and into Europe. His favorite pastime was keeping up with the stock market and investing. He was a dedicated and hard worker at all his endeavors, including being a Dad to Lelia. He lived for a number of years in Murrells Inlet, SC, and just recently moved back to Wise. He attended Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Wise.

Roger was one of ten children born to John W. Carico and Rachel Ella Strouth Carico.

He is survived by his former wife, Elizabeth Jones Carico and their daughter, Lelia Rachel Carico, six of his siblings (oldest to youngest): Catherine (Donald Sylvester) Bloomer of Madison, WI; Lee (Janet) Carico of Wise, VA; Doug (Sharon) Carico of Wise, VA; Larry (Melanie) Carico of Salley, SC; Lawrence (Angela) Carico of Clinton, TN; Gail (Dale Kelly) Bryant of Parsons, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Roger Carico will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Roger Barker officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. till time of services at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
