County: 16 new cases

Wise County reported 16 new COVID-19 cases between June 27 and Tuesday.
According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 14,216 as of Tuesday, compared to 14,200 one week earlier.
Wise County’s total number of COVID deaths remained at 238.

The department’s cumulative positive case count for Norton was revised down by two, from 1,631 reported last week to 1,629. The reason for the revision was not immediately clear.

The city’s total number of deaths remained at 22.
