RICHARD OSCAR SALYERS
Richard “Rick” Oscar Salyers, 59, passed away on Friday June 9, after a prolonged battle with heart disease. He was the son of Larry and Brenda Salyers, and brother to Larenda Page.
Rick was a business owner in the Pound community, previously owning the Pixie Drive -In and various pizza places over the years. Rick graduated from Pound High School in the class of 1982. He loved the UT Vols and wore his UT hats and jacket proudly. Rick spent most his spare time fishing on Cherokee Lake with a Diet Mountain Dew in one hand and his fishing pole in the other hand.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Larry; and grand-parents Curt and Maxie Salyers, and Willie and Rena Dotson.
Survivors include his wife Kim Salyers, sons Spencer Ryan Salyers and James Nicholas Pennington; daughter Rikki Kaye Salyers. Rick also leaves behind granddaughters, Alyssa Salyers, Nadia McCoo and Alexis, Lauren and Hannah Pennington, as well as niece Julia Page and nephew Ernie Page.

As per Rick’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be a memorial service at a later date.
