One death, 13 new cases

Wise County reported 13 new COVID-19 cases between March 28 and Tuesday.
According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 14,046 as of Tuesday, compared to 14,033 one week earlier.
Wise County’s total number of COVID deaths increased by one, from 237 to 238.

The department’s cumulative positive case count for Norton remained at 1,620.
The city’s total number of deaths remained at 22.

The Virginia Department of Health recently made several changes to its public reporting of COVID statistics, including no longer releasing daily updates.
