RUBY A. STURGILL

Ruby A. Sturgill, 95, of Valley City, Ohio, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Ruby was born February 2, 1928 in Cleveland, Virginia to the late Garnett and Ida Ruth (nee Counts) Breeding. She moved from Virginia to Litchfield, Ohio where she raised her family.

Ruby was an active and devoted member of Litchfield Assembly Church of God and served as secretary for many years. She worked as a cook at the Litchfield Elementary School for 20 years and always had a beautiful garden so she could can the produce for the winter months.

Ruby was dedicated and proud mom, grandma and great grandma who attended all her children’s school and sporting activities. She loved to read and work jigsaw puzzles.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Connie (Alan) Pinzone, Craig (Kelly) Sturgill and Trent (Lori) Sturgill, grandchildren Audie, Courtney, Craig Jr., Colton, Cady, Arlena, Stephanie, Sam, Aaron, Nicholas and Dave, great grandchildren Delanie, Harper, Hudson, Keegan, Porter, Wynn, Chase, Carter, Cruze, Wesley, Fiona and Rowan. Sisters Ollie Dotson, Vivian Moskol and Loretta Hayden.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll, daughter Pamela and granddaughter Ashley Sturgill and also three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30 at the Litchfield Assembly of God, 9082 Norwalk Road Litchfield, Ohio with funeral services immediately following the visitation. Rev. Mark Hartshorn, officiating. Burial- Litchfield Cemetery.
