JOYCE YOUNG JONES

Joyce Young Jones, 89, of Coeburn entered into rest on October 3, 2022, at Ballad Bristol Regional Medical Center after an illness.

Born in Beckley, WV, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Lyle Renfro Young and was married to the late Jack Preston Jones.

After high school, Joyce started working for the banking industry, enjoying a long successful career. Joyce achieved the position of Bank Vice-President at Miners Exchange Bank, and retired after more than 40 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Coeburn and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She loved gardening, painting, knitting and caring for her many cats. She loved her community and was active in the Red Hat Society and several other civic organizations in Coeburn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Young and an aunt, Helen Renfro.

Survivors include; nieces, Lynn Cowan, Dawn Young, Jonnie Young and Robin Balance; sisters-in-laws, Betty Dingus, Sue Jones and Naomi Jones; several other nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7 at Estes Funeral Home with services to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Ben Harding officiating.

Committal Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. for procession to the cemetery.
