WILLIAM ‘BILL’ CLINTON COWDEN

William “Bill” Clinton Cowden age 75 of Greenville, Alabama died on Monday, February 28, 2022 at his residence.

Bill was born on June 29, 1946 in Norton, Virginia to Jesse and Mary Norris Cowden. He attended John I. Burton High School then went on to join the Navy as an Ordinance Specialist. He was also a former police officer for the City of Greenville, Alabama. He retired from the Mobile Home Industry and as a self-employed contractor.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse R. Cowden and Mary Irene Norris Cowden; granddaughter, Brianna Layton.

He is survived by Shirley Richardson of Greenville; his daughter, Brittany Cowden of Tifton, GA ; grandchildren Deegan and Zoie Kellahan and mother Diane Cowden;

Charles (Chuck) Cain Jr. of Canton, GA, Angie Jackson of Eufula, AL, Jeff Cain of Kennesaw, GA, Teresa Cain of Hawthorne, FL and their mother Sue Cowden Hill, Kent Layton of Albany, GA, Daphne King of Orange Beach, AL, Ashley Conway of Gulf Shores, AL; siblings, James Harold Cowden of Kingsport, TN, Loretta Jean Stidham of Norton, VA, Joyce Ann Watts of Kingsport, TN, Jackie Ray Cowden of Covington, GA; special grandchild, Charles (Chad) W. Cain III of Decatur, AL; great granddaughter, Calla Burch Cain; along with numerous nieces, nephews and family and his hunting club friends.

Graveside service will be held on April 2 at 2 p.m. in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton.
