JAMES ‘CRICKET’ HOPKINS

James “Cricket” Hopkins, 60, formerly of Norton, VA. was welcomed home by the Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. He resided in Palmetto, FL. at the time of his passing.

Cricket is preceded in death by his father James “Hoppy” Hopkins.
He is survived by his wife Natysha of 27 years. He is also survived by his mother Carol Hopkins of Norton, VA.; sister Laura and husband Mike Duffie of Calhoun, GA., sister Janet and husband Mark Conner of Norton; sister Karen and husband Chris Kommes of Johnson City, TN. along with several neices, nephews and cousins.

Cricket was passoniate about music, cooking, golf and trivia (especially the game show Jeopardy). He had a love/hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved the New York Yankees mostly due to the fact that it was the first baseball game he was taken to by his grandfather in New York when he was a young boy.

Cricket worked in the floor covering industry for 28 years and previously owned his own retail floor covering business. He was very well liked and respected for his vast knowledge by his peers’. One of his proudest accomplishments was serving one tour with the United States Marine Corp. and spending time in Okinawa, Japan.

Cricket will be remembered with love and respect by all who knew him. His impact forever felt by those whose lives he touched while here on earth. The family will celebrate this wonderful life privately.
