DAVID R. JESSEE SR.

David R. Jessee Sr. (DR) 65, passed away at his residence in Coeburn on Sunday October 31, 2021.

David was a coal miner for 36 years. He was an avid golfer as well as a deer hunter. He also enjoyed camping in summer. David is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Thelma Jessee, three brothers Bobby, Randy and Jeff Jessee and a sister Cindy Sexton, and an infant granddaughter Allyson Renee Rose.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years Charlene Collins Jessee. Son David Jessee Jr., and wife Eva, six grandchildren Kolbi Douglas, Kali Holt, Kenna Smith, Khloe Jessee, Kamille Jessee, Karley Jessee all of Kingsport, Tenn. Daughter Melanie Rose and husband Brian Rose and granddaughter Sarai Nicole Rose all of Coeburn; sisters Betty Jessee, Anna Jessee, Amanda Mickels and a brother Bryan Jessee all of Norton and sister Debbie Kilgore and husband Jr. Kilgore of Wise; a brother James Jessee of Coeburn. David also leaves behind a host of friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 3, from 12. to 1 p.m.. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Coeburn. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Marty Puckett and Brian Rose officiating.
