ALTHEA HILL

Althea Elizabeth Hill, 49, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at Norton Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theordius Miller and Orphelia Mae Forney, her grandmother, Lillie Mae McCray and an uncle, Paul Forney. She was a graduate of John I. Burton High School.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Hill of Norton, Va; daughters, Ra’Shelle Stanley of Pound, Va., Taneika Forney, Iris Hill, Jazmine Hill and Kayla Hill, all of Norton, Va.; grandchildren, Monteaz, Jaylen, Donovan, Trenton and Cree; brothers, Mark Forney, Gene Forney and his wife Sharon, all of Norton, Va., Herbert Hucks and his wife Tamika of North Carolina, Moe Miller, John Miller and Spencer Miller, all of Norton, Va.; sisters, Mae Dingus of North Caroline, Wanda Forney of Baltimore, Md., Tina Miller of Wise, Va., Becky Miller of Raleigh, N.C. and Cynthia Miller of Coeburn, Va.; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Iris Wilson; special friends, Brenda and Gerald Hairston and Reneé Watlington.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Leroy Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak View Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, Va.
