BOBBY JOE WILSON

Bobby Joe Wilson, 80, of Sorrento, FL, went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2021, in Tavares, FL.

Bobby was born on February 18, 1941 in Washington County, Virginia to his parents Ralph Wilson and Myrtle Grace Wilson.

He was an Electrical Engineer who worked for the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). He moved from Blairsville, Georgia to Central Florida in 2016. Bobby was a proud veteran, father, husband and grandfather, who served in the United States Air Force and was of the Baptist faith.

In his early years, Bobby was a Radar Repairman with the United States Air Force, and worked with the Hurricane Hunters. He worked his civilian career at both the University of Miami and GTRI and was a “Helluva” Electrical Engineer. Before his passing he still worked on many important projects at Georgia Tech.

He is survived by his loving son, Stephen D. Wilson and his wife Angela of Winter Garden, FL; his wife Donna H. Wilson of Sorrento Fl, two brothers, Hank Wilson of Norton and Mike Wilson of Norton; sister, Debbie Adams of Norton; lifelong extended family members, Linda H. Rothery, and Jerry Hall, and two loving grandchildren, McKenzie Wilson and Colton Wilson.

The family will receive friends at 1 pm Saturday, Sept. 18, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Services will be conducted at 2 pm. A reception will follow.

Due to the resurgence of Covid-19, masks are encouraged for all that attend.
