COVID vaccinations offered

The Virginia Department of Health is offering COVID-19 vaccinations at several events around the region during September.

The Pfizer vaccine is available for first, second and booster doses.

Walk-ins are welcome with no appointment.

The health department RV will be available:

• Sept. 7, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., University of Virginia’s College at Wise.

• Sept. 9, 2-6 p.m., First United Methodist Church, Pennington Gap.

• Sept. 10, 7:45-10 p.m., Central Drive-In. Buy one ticket, get one free with a vaccination at this event.

• Sept. 12, 4-7:30 p.m., Norton Cinema. Buy one ticket, get one free with a vaccination or by showing your vaccination card at this event.

• Sept. 14, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Mountain Empire Community College.

• Sept. 18, 5-9 p.m., Lee County Fair, Pennington Gap.
