RAYMOND LARRY “RAY’ ELLISON

Raymond Larry “Ray’ Ellison, 79 of Prince Frederick, MD. passed away on June 7, 2021. He left peacefully from his home at German Chapel Road.

Larry was born on October 6, 1941 on Mill Creek of Pound, VA. His parents were Alphus and Chloe Gentry Ellison. His parents and an infant brother preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years Leslie E. Ellison, one son Raymond A. (Cheryl) Ellison and one grandson Dylan P. Ellison all of St. Leonard, MD; two sisters, Joan E. Fleming of Pound, and Cheri T. Taylor of Norman, OK.; two brothers a twin, David B. (Elsie) Ellison of Clintwood and Milton A.(Carolyn) Ellison of Wise and several nieces and nephews.

Larry graduated from Pound High School in 1960. He entered the trade unions as an apprentice carpenter and electrician in Washington D. C. and became a Master Electrician and member of the I.B.E.W. Local No. 26 of Washington D.C. working at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant for 25 years and later as foreman and general foreman at power and industrial plants in several states before retiring in 2004.

Larry loved to visit relatives in Pound and other places. He was an avid fisherman, fishing in Canada, the Patuxtent River and the Chesapeake Bay as well as the Flannagan Reservoir. He also loved to garden and watch football and old westerns on tv.

A memorial service honoring the life of Raymond L. Ellison will be held at a later date.

Memorial gifts in remembrance may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
