GRACE JENELL MINNIX

Grace Jenell Minnix of Kimball Township, MI, known by those closest to her as “Nell” or “Nelly”, passed April 28, 2021 at the age of 87.
Originally from Dorchester, VA., she lived most of her life in Michigan. She spent most of her career working in the insurance industry and was an active member of the National Organization for Women until her retirement in the mid-1990s. She was very loved and will be missed dearly by her family.

Grace was predeceased by her parents, Oakley and Pearl Minnix, sisters Janet (Richard) Jackson, Wilma Minnix, Mary Ann Minnix, brothers-in-law Richard Jackson and Harry Lewis, and niece Anna Jean Goad.
She is survived by her sister Flo (Harry) Lewis, nephews Steve (Sondra) Goad, Michael Lewis, Sr., Gregory “Mark” (Sherri) Lewis, nieces Vicki (Keith) Schembri and Janet (Daniel) Jorgensen-Zapata, as well as many grand, great grand, and great-great grandnieces and nephews.
A memorial service at Rosedale Baptist Church in Abingdon, VA will be planned at a later time.
