He was preceded in death by his parents, John Odle and Jane Bise Odle; Wife, Betty Jo James Odle; Daughter, Sharon Yvonne Kennedy; Son In Law, Carlos "Cookie" Hileman; four sisters, Vena Mae Spear, Bernice Buchanan, Opal Buchanan and Clara Nixon; four brothers, Burley Odle, Jake Odle Sr., Johnnie Odle and Bill Odle.

He is survived by Cracker, his little dog, whom he always claimed to be the boss; two daughters, Marie (Harold) Glover and Mary Hileman; 10 rotten grandchildren, 16 special great-grandchildren and four precious great-great grandchildren and a very special caregiver, Pam Hensley.

Emory was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from V.I.C.C. Emory loved sitting and talking with people about the good ole days. His most iconic stories he always shared were the days he spent in the service, spending time on Guest River and hunting. He would tell these stories like it happened yesterday. He enjoyed having his family close by all the time. He never called us by our real name as he gave each person their own name, and he always made sure they were unique and special to each of them. Regardless if it was PeeWee, Hunk, Charlie or Toto. His memories will forever be cherished and along with his stories, laughter and love will be deeply missed by all.

Graveside service was held on Sunday, December 20 at 2 p.m. with clergyman Allen Culbertson officiating at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Coeburn.

Estes Funeral Home is serving the Odle family.
