City schools virus numbers updated

December 20, 2020

A Dec. 3 health report from Norton Elementary and Middle School Nurse Jennifer Hughes stated that there were five students and one staff member in the Norton school district who tested positive for COVID-19 since the last school board meeting in November.

There were no students or faculty with temperatures greater than 100 degrees during any temperature check over the past month and no students in the isolation room. However, the report states that there were 49 people quarantined for firsthand exposure outside of the building.

According to the COVID-19 Information and Updates page on the city schools website, three more people have tested positive for COVID-19 since Hughes’ monthly report was released.
