MARTHA BOLLING FORD

Martha Bolling Ford (nee Wren), 79, of Richmond, VA passed away peacefully on June 11, 2020, after a brief illness.
Born in Wise County to William H. Wren Jr. and Jean Bolling Wren, Martha spent her early years in Norton and Big Stone Gap. She was a graduate of Westhampton College of the University of Richmond, majoring in sociology. She did social work for several years in Southwest Virginia before settling in Kingsport, TN to raise her two children.
She did countless hours of local volunteer work, in particular Meals on Wheels, and volunteering at her children’s schools.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her Aunt Rosamond Smith, and her brother William H. Wren, III (Billy).
She is survived by a sister, Mary-Gwyn Allard, of Falls Church, VA; daughter, Gwyn Kuprianov and husband Tony, of Summit, NJ; son James C. Ford Jr., of Florida; one grandson Sam Kuprianov, of Summit, NJ; and niece Kristin Shapiro, of Chesapeake, VA.
Martha was a life-long animal lover. In her memory, please consider making a donation to your local animal shelter. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
