GLENN ‘PAPPY’ BALDWIN

Glenn “Pappy” Baldwin, 74, of Pound, went to be with his Lord on Friday, October 16, 2020 from his residence. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Glenn was a Christian and attended Mill Creek Church of God of Prophecy of Pound.

He was proud to be a veteran of the  United States Army, having served in Vietnam. Glenn worked as coal surface miner for 40 plus years. He never met a stranger and enjoyed reminiscing with friends and family, he also liked gardening, watching old westerns on TV, repairing old chainsaws, collecting guns of all sorts, collecting antiques and going to flea markets when he could. He always loved his dogs, especially Annie. 

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Hearl Preston and Myrtle Beatrice Castle Baldwin, sisters, Ina Mae Baldwin,  Lelar Baldwin, Carol Beutler, Nancy Baldwin and Linda Baldwin; brothers, Carson Baldwin, Billy Baldwin, Coy Baldwin and Rolie Baldwin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lois Childers Baldwin of Pound; his sons, Glenn Baldwin Jr. of Pound, Jody Potter and wife Connie of Surgoinsville, TN, Jack Potter and wife Beth of Lexington, KY, and Nick Potter and wife Robin of Greeneville, TN; daughters, Vanessa Baldwin and Todd Pucket of Bristol, VA and Penny Johnson and husband Chester of Neon, KY; grandchildren, Justin Potter, Ryan Potter, Jeremy Dotson, Whitney Tyree, Josh Potter, Paige Adams, Sobel Dickerson, Adam Potter, Haley Potter,  and Jacob Potter; great grandchildren, Skyler Dickerson, Adileh Dickerson, Titus Dickerson, Karsyn Adams, Keegan Adams, Grayson Tyree, Finnley 

Tyree, Elliott Tyree, Jaxon Potter, Eden Potter, Braxton Potter, Kingston Potter and Harper Dotson; brothers, Avis Baldwin and wife Sherry of Virgie, KY., Alfo Baldwin and wife Karen of Weed, CA and Shade Baldwin of Burdine, KY; numerous nieces, nephew and cousins and a host of special friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 am Monday, October 19 in the Baker Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Pat Dockery and Pastor Josh Tyree officiating. Pound VFW Post 9600 conducted military graveside services in the funeral home parking lot. Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery in Whitesburg, KY. where family members served as pallbearers.

The family received friends Sunday, October 18 at the funeral home.
