Local firms get grants

Four local businesses are among those benefiting from the second and final round of grants from the Southwest Virginia-Northeast Tennessee Local Business Recovery Fund.

According to published reports, the final round of grant awards was recently processed.

Virginia companies receiving grants include:

• Park Avenue Academy of Cosmetology, Norton.

• Stone Mountain Adventures, Norton.

• Innovative Graphics & Design, Norton.

• Olive Branch Day Spa, Clintwood.

Local businesses were eligible to apply for a grant in the eight westernmost counties of Virginia along with Norton and Bristol and several Northeast Tennessee counties. Grants were awarded to help businesses involved in arts, entertainment or recreation, accommodation and food services, retail trade, or the manufacturing sectors that have struggled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
