AHS Alumni Scholarship awarded to Hannah Austin

June 18, 2020

The Appalachia High School Alumni Association created a Scholarship to be given away each year to a student that had a parent or grandparent graduate from Appalachia High School.  The Alumni Association is proud to announce the winner of the 2020 AHS Alumni Scholarship is Union High School graduate Hannah Austin.

Hannah has attended Mountain Empire Community College while in high school and now will attend UVA-Wise to major in English Literature.

The Appalachia High School Alumni Association was established as a support group to increase community involvement, generate spirit, and assist in building enthusiasm in honoring our past while looking toward the future.

The Appalachia High School Alumni Association encourages the community to promote the ideas of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, commitment, and courage as so designed to build character and continue to bring pride to the community of Appalachia.

The Alumni Association would like to invite others to join our organization so that we may continue to honor the great Appalachia High School Bulldog past, but also continue to help the youth of Southwest Virginia.  If you would like to become a member or have questions you may contact Angela Honeycutt at 276/870-5759.  If you would like to make a donation to the AHS Alumni Association Scholarship fund, so we may continue to help student’s like Hannah, you may send your donation to the AHS Alumni Association, P.O.
