SHARON YVONNE PHILLIPS

Sharon Yvonne Phillips, 74, of Wise, entered peacefully into her eternal reward Friday December 27, 2019 from Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Her loving family was by her side.

Sharon was of the Christian faith. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Sharon was a member of the ladies auxillary at the Wise Fire Department, where she also cleaned and scheduled events at the Bingo Barn. She was an avid reader, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, birdwatching, cleaning house, and caring for her mother, her kids and her grandkids.

Sharon was preceded in death by her biological father, Eugene Hicken, and her Dad, William C. “Curt” Boggs.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years Sam Phillips-Wise; her mother, Anna Ethel Boggs-Wise; her daughters, Cindy Rutherford and husband Mike-Pound and Melinda Wright and husband Sean-Wise; her son Duane Phillips and wife Kim-Wise; her grandchildren Genie Hamilton and husband John, Kayley Church and husband Caleb, Justin Rutherford and wife Jennifer, Jacob Rutherford, Julie Rutherford, Samantha Wright, Megan Wright, Katelyn Wright, Dylan Hall and Ethan Hall; great-grandchildren Evan Brickey, Emilee Brickey and Emmitt Church; brothers Gary Hicken and wife

Imogene and Michael Glenn Hicken; nephews Michael Hicken and wife Elizabeth and Donnie Hicken; several nieces, nephews and cousins; her extended family; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn her passing and cherish her memory.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 pm Sunday, December 29, in the Baker Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Ben Murphy officiating. The family received friends from 5 pm until time of services.

Graveside services were conducted at 1 pm Monday, December 30 at the Bolling Cemetery in the Flat Gap section of Pound where family members served as pallbearers.
