JANE BAKER BOLLING

Jane was born February 26, 1930 in the Bold Camp section of Pound, VA, known then as Hugh, VA.  She attended Dotson School and graduated from Christopher Gist High School, Pound. She attended Clinch Valley College and Mountain Empire Community College.

Jane and her husband J. Shelton began their 70 years of marriage in 1949. They established their home in Pound, which they kept, even though employment opportunities required several moves to Eastern Virginia.

She enjoyed being J’s partner working in and out of the home. She did her own housework and assisted in the auto parts business. Her love for studying was most evident in her Christian and church life. She used her talents and time in singing in church, teaching Bible school, ladies auxiliary projects, church and youth plays and programs. For several years she was a teacher’s aide and substitute teacher at Pound Elementary School and she supported Wise County Christian School.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, J. Shelton Bolling, parents Luther and Gracie Baker, brothers Lovell and Travis, sisters, Edith Cantrell, Jewel Baker, Joice Smith, Frances Hale, Lena Sutphin, daughter-in-law Gleama Bolling.

She is survived by children, Penny, Beth and Reed. Grandchildren Jocelyn and Jon, three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Services will be at Clintwood Colley Funeral Home, Clintwood. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 27 from 4 until 6 p.m. Service at 6 p.m. Burial Saturday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. at Bolling Cemetery.
