Rhonda Kay Stanley Clark, 59, of Wise, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Holston Valley Medical Center.

She battled health issues for several years but never complained and always had a smile on her face. She was a 1980 graduate of J.J. Kelly High School and was a former employee of Shannon’s Restaurant and Glenn’s Market. Rhonda was a very loving and giving person. Everyone that knew her loved her. She enjoyed listening to country music, especially Waylon Jennings, Trace Adkins and Garth Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oakley and Pauline Cox Stanley; her sister, Janice; and infant brother, Errin Walker.

Surviving are her sisters, Barbara Jones and husband Jerry, Markeda Wampler and husband John both of Wise, Donna Sloce and husband J.M. of Prestonsburg, KY and Dedria Hall and husband Stevie of Orlando, FL; brothers, Darrell Stanley and wife Phyllis, Robert Stanley and wife Jean, Harold Stanley and wife Patti, Douglas Stanley and wife Thelma, all of Wise, Randy Stanley and wife Donna of Appalachia and Donald Stanley and wife Delilah of Big Stone Gap; step-son, D.J. Clark and special friend Cynthia Bowen; many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; and a host of other relatives and friends.

“You laid there in that hospital bed, you tried hard to hold on. God was calling you home. He needed another angel to help pour out the rain. Tears have fallen, hearts were shattered, but it was time to fly home. Your loved ones came to say their last goodbyes, to tell you they loved you, and that you will be forever missed. As your heartbeat stopped, and your eyes slowly closed, God took another angel home.”

Funeral services for Rhonda Kay Stanley Clark will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 3 at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise with Pastor J.M. Sloce officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of services Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, in the Cox-Blevins Cemetery in Wise. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery.
