EDNA MELISSA ADKINS

Edna Melissa Adkins, 92, of Coeburn, departed this life on October 22, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed going to karaoke and her time spent with the Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles #3141. Edna was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Adkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.E. Adkins Jr., daughter, Glenda Adkins and siblings, James Adkins, Betty Proulex and Hazel Ferguson.

She is survived by her four children, BeLinda (Blaine) McCoy, Pat Holbrook, Leonard Adkins and Melissa Adkins; five grandchildren, Shonna Campbell, Jim Holbrook, Hugh Holbrook, Malissa McConnell and Bo McCoy; four great-grandchildren, Molly Harvey, Luke McConnell, Hayli McConnell and Evan Holbrook, one great-great granddaughter, Addison Harvey along with several nieces and nephew.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Coeburn. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker McCoy Cemetery Sandy Ridge.
