The Mountain Empire Community College 2014 licensed practical nurse program graduating class has been participating in a number of community fundraising activities. The MECC LPN Service Organization, Healing Hands, recently collected donations in support of St. Jude’s, the Ronald McDonald House, and local long term care nursing facilities. The organization will participate in the upcoming MEOC Walkathon and will host a campus-wide event to educate the public on Ecstasy drug abuse at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 in the Goodloe Center. In addition, Healing Hands will volunteer in the annual Wise RAM event this summer, providing medical assistance during the event. The 2014 MECC LPN graduating class has completed more than 400 hours of clinical participation and will graduate in August.
