Crash sends one to hospital

This 2009 Pontiac was traveling north on 23 when it ran off the right side of the highway and struck Jervis’ disabled Jeep, causing it to flip on its top. The Pontiac came to rest several dozen feet away. The driver, Paulette Boggs, 50, of Kingsport, was transported to Mountain View Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Norton Police Sgt. Danny Hughes charged Boggs with failure to maintain control. She was wearing a safety belt and her air bags deployed, he said.
