The Virginia Xtreme, a team comprised of players from throughout Wise County, finished its season over the weekend at the Tennessee State tournament. The team lost in the first round of the single-elimination tournament but it did not take away from a super season from these young men. Team Xtreme finished the season ranked as the No. 1 12-U baseball team in the East Tennessee BPA, the No. 1 ranked team in the state of Virginia and the No. 5 ranked 12-U team in the country, according to BPA points. The team consists of players from Wise, Big Stone Gap, Norton, Pound and Appalachia.
