Appalachia girls make state

The District 13 Appalachia 11-12-year-old softball team won three games in state tournament pool play, beating North Accomack, 4-1; Prince William, 5-2; and Tuckahoe, 10-9, in seven innings. The team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Bristol in the single elimination tournament. Team members are Sam Sizemore, Sydney Ramey, Julie Miller, Lisa Poole, Autumn Varner, Jaylan Webb, Faith Hamblin, Zoe Brooks, Emili Brooks, and Gabby Stidham.
