Eastside’s Hunter Lunsford tees off at the first hole Tuesday in the Virginia High School League’s Group 1A State Championships at the Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon. Lunsford finished the two-day tournament with a 164, 12th best among individuals. Essex’s Larkin Gross won medalist honors with 146. Eastside’s Seth Boles finished with a 199. William Campbell won the team title with a 668, five strokes of second-place Galax that finished with a 673. In the Group 2A State Championships, also held at Glenrochie on Monday and Tuesday, Central’s Zac Mullins finished ninth with a two-day total of a 161.
