The Eastside Spartans used the youth movement on Monday to win the Cumberland Conference Golf Championship at Cedar Hill Country Club near Jonesville. Eastside Freshman Hunter Lunsford shot a 74 to earn medalist honors, while Drew Richards (81) and Seth Boles (83), both freshman, were among the five lowest scores in the tournament. The Spartans finished with a 330, while Thomas Walker finished second with a 363, followed by Rye Cove’s 394 and Castlewood’s 468. Eastside and Thomas Walker qualified for Monday’s Group 1A Western Region Championships at Cedar Hill. SHELLEY RICHARDS PHOTO.
